The ARC Training Centre in Optimisation Technologies, Integrated Methodologies, and Applications (OPTIMA) at the University of Melbourne, hosted in July.
The conference, which was supported by a grant from the Academy鈥檚 Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia), created a platform for researchers and industry partners to discuss and collaborate on optimisation in various industry endeavours.
The event covered topics such as optimisation technologies, advanced manufacturing, water and resource management, defence and cybersecurity, green energy, health and wellbeing, logistics and transport, optimisation in action, and workforce scheduling. Academics and industry experts delivered these sessions.
The conference also included keynote addresses from leading research scientists and optimisation solvers, panel and case study discussions, poster presentations and daily networking events providing opportunities for researchers and industry partners to connect and collaborate.
OPTIMA-CON 2024 fostered connections and collaborations between academia and industry, paving the way for future innovations in optimisation.
The Theo Murphy Initiative (Australia) was established by the Royal Society to further scientific discovery.
